Loved this article Kim! It is simply beautiful, with much depth, and providing much to reflect upon. I feel that each time I read it, it will be a different experience at that moment. Change and adaptability have never been so noticeable and so needed now! You have a unique and special way of expressing from the heart and mind that connects with many people, especially myself! I am going to read this article daily the next week, seeing where it takes me from day to day. THANK YOU Kim for taking your time to write these very thought-provoking articles!!!
Yuval Noah Harari talks much about change and the need for adaptability in the 21st centuray. Everything is changing around us, and how we can best adapt, asking many good questions. questions.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI3WXokzv_0
Thank you, Sharana. I’m glad it’s helpful. And, Harari is always thought-provoking. Most importantly, I hope you do some of the practices and share any insights you glean from them.
Harari is definitely thought-provoking! I love Impact Theory with the many stimulating speakers! Yes, you inspired me!! You are probably familiar with the book, The Art of Noticing by Rob Walker. I have given the book to a few people, and everyone has loved it. It is wonderful. I am on Rob Walker's Email list. THANKS!!
Injecting some change with: observing novelty, notice attention with more long looks, making the ordinary extraordinary, listening to "The Science of Mindfulness and Mindlessness." Engagement with life involves constant change, small and bigger. Being more intentional will definitely be helpful in this class with seeing more clearly/ increased perceptual skills. Everything is kind of a blur, hoping for a better map with directions. The map is not the territory, so I need to incease awareness and attention, while slowing down and pausing more. Small and slow are essential with the Feldenkrais Method to be become more aware of sensations. There are many similarities between the Feldenkrias Method and Seeing Clearly. This makes both more meaningful, helpful, and fun!
One reason I bought the house I now live in is the light. Our main room stretches the length of the house, oriented east-west. It is a profound joy to watch the light move and change over the course of the day -- starting out in the front at sunrise, lighting up the houseplants and casting lovely shadows. Then it shifts slowly toward the large windows in the west side, lighting objects from the other direction. Change also comes with the seasons, as the sun moves across the sky and shines in the windows differently. I never tire of observing and photographing the changing "light show." I've learned to take a photo immediately, as the light changes in a few moments -- a daily lesson in impermanence.
The Science of Mindfulness and Mindlessness Podcast - a conversation with Ellen Langer was EXTREMELY helpful and interesting! THANK YOU KIM!! I appreciate the way Ellen spoke of the differences. Noticing is a very useful and practical way to talk about mindfulness, something easier to connect with in my everyday life. The task is still challenging, but seems more manageable, understandable, and attainable! Along with your prompts and guidance Kim I am looking forward this year to the journey of Seeing Clearly and Mindfulness!! I appreciate all your weekly writings, resources, and dedicated time spent on this Seeing Clearly Project!!!

A daily lesson for sure. Buying a house because of the way the lights moves is just the best. Thanks for sharing.
