Hello, Kim, and everyone - Now that August, and summer, is in the rear view mirror, t's great to be catching up with the past few weeks of Seeing Clearly 2021. I'm excited for this week's exercise, and paying attention to what this post has already lit up for me.

I love the synchronicity of this post with what is happening in my life. I've been wrestling with family history, focused on the letters of my great grandmother, which had been hidden away for decades. I read them first 8 years ago, and I was looking for particular clues to explain some tragic history. Disappointed, I'd put the letters away, but every couple of years I'd take them out, and read them with an expanding intention to get to know this woman. With this last rereading over the past two weeks I am seeing a new woman, and frame for family stories. My goodness, talk about inattentional blindness!! I've gone from reading this woman as manipulative and volatile to bright, brave, hopeful and loving. Since the words on the page haven't changed, my shift in perspective tracks where I've been, and what I've opened up to.

Now to have some fun with a daily search sound, smell, shape or tree.
